DESCRIPTION:Experience the ultimate Farm to Fork (and glass) adventure! \n \n  \nJoin us on an immersive farm tour of Kandanga Farm\, the Mary Valley’s only certified organic beef property and proud home of K2 Beef. Farmer Tim will guide you through the intricacies of organic beef cattle farming\, shedding light on the day-to-day operations in an area where organic livestock production was once deemed impossible. Gain a profound appreciation for the dedication and hard work that goes into bringing quality food to your table. \nWhether you are a conscious consumer\, a budding cattle producer or are interested in reducing chemical use in your operation (and maybe even getting organically certified!) there will something for every level on this tour. \nTalk about animal selection\, animal behaviour\, mirroring nature’s patterns\, parasite control\, pasture management\, regeneration\, weeds\, carbon and more. \n  \n  \n \nAfter the farm tour\, journey back to the Kandanga Farm Store to meet local Vigneron Damian from Windrush Estate. Discover Damian’s passion project of cultivating Tempranillo grapes in the Mary Valley and witness firsthand how these grapes transform into exquisite wine. Indulge in a complimentary glass of Damian’s 2021 vintage Tempranillo while unravelling the artistry and science behind winemaking. \nWith no background in agriculture\, Damien has taken a leap of faith into vineyard design and management. He has had to learn all aspects from vine to bottle. Who knew that there is an art to choosing the right glass for a wine bottle?!  Damien’s good natured and humorous tales are sure to engage and entertain you. \n  \n  \n  \nAnd it keeps getting better! Renowned Chef Matt Golinski will tantalize your taste buds with a series of delectable tapas creations\, showcasing the finest local produce including K2 Beef and Windrush Tempranillo. SUMMARY:Season Starter Session - get ready for WINTER
DESCRIPTION:Regenerating your plot\, big or small\, while getting poison out of the food chain and building natural capital is all doable but requires a proactive approach to land management. But what do you do and when do you do it? Our Season Starter Sessions are a “nuts & bolts” approach to becoming proactive and avoiding the common issues faced by many producers- poor soil\, nutrition gaps (for humans and animals)\, parasite & pest burdens\, land degradation\, unhealthy water systems and an underperforming food production system. \nReactive management limits your ability to get off the chemical train. It also leads to overwhelm and missed opportunities. Our role in the Season Starters is to help you get in the driver’s seat for your farm\, garden or plot – season by season and year by year. Deal with the issues before they even become issues. \nTopics covered each session include – \n\nThe fundamentals of Regenerative Agriculture – practically\nSeasonal activities for land management to build soil health\nSeasonal activities for animal management – integrating livestock\, nutrition\, marketing\, breeding\nWhat to plant and jobs to do in your home veg garden\nWorking with nature rather than fighting\n\nWith guest speakers as well as drawing on our own decade plus of experience producing certified organic beef while still regenerating our landscape in the high-parasite\, sub-tropical Mary Valley region. \n  \nRemaining 2025 Dates \n  \nFriday May 9th 2pm – 5:30pm PREPARING FOR WINTER \nSaturday August 23rd 10am – 1pm PREPARING FOR SPRING \nSaturday November 8th 10am – 1pm PREPARING FOR SUMMER \nCost is $65 per session  \n  \n \n  \n

One of the most memorable things about Matt’s meals (apart from the food!) is the time he takes to explain the menu\, the ingredients and the farmers that produced them. You can’t help but be inspired by Matt’s creativity and sensitivity with food and you’ll leave with an appreciation of just how much good food comes out of the Mary Valley and surrounding region. This is not dinner for the sake of it\, this is a meal to connect you to the local landscape and the people who farm here. \nServed like a family meal on long tables this is an experience to enjoy real food and the magic that happens when good people come together to eat.  You’ll be joining our Seasonal Starter Workshop participants\, who will have spent the proceeding few hours expanding their knowledge on growing food organically\, with this meal culminating their winter preparation workshop with us at the Farm Store.
